Peer to Peer Internet Video Broadcasting
Unlike standard television, there are a limited number of viewers who can take an Internet TV station. These limitations are determined by the bandwidth of the network media server available. A popular Internet television station would require large amounts of bandwidth to make the transfer to a large TV audience.
Peer-to-peer (commonly known as P2P) can influence the audience to distribute new with the help of special softwareThe media broadcasts. Thus the need for costly centralized media server account to use to distribute the results in radio and cost savings for the consumption of bandwidth.
Companies of any size or group can establish an effective media presence spread, without the huge costs normally associated with Internet broadcasting. With this method, only a few data streams to a global Internet broadcast distribution are required.
P2P Internet broadcasting providesBandwidth results extremely friendly and can have a virtually unlimited number of users supported. This method also provides effective security against Denial of Service (DOS) attacks that can cripple a centralized server and network architecture.
There are both commercial non-commercial as well as provide opportunities that P2P broadcast ability for Internet television.
This article includes the free open-source software.
Open Source is an initiative that people have access to the canSoftware source codes. This is the actual nuts and bolts that allow the software for the enterprise. This initiative also allows people the ability to distribute and modify the source code, or so that improvements and adjustments to the software.
Peercast
Peercast is a P2P media broadcast application for the Windows, Unix and Mac operating systems is available. It is protocol with Shoutcast, Icecast and Windows Media-compatible streaming.
The software wasOriginally designed to use Gnutella as a basis for broadcast distribution. The software now uses a hierarchical topology for media broadcast distribution. This new method provides greater scalability and more data-organization.
Channel data collected by the YP directory. These data are continuously updated by each supplier. Listeners / viewers (client software) provide the link between these points, the transmitter andother.
Each transmitter has the ability to enable a digital signature to media broadcast authentication. This will prevent their broadcasts abducted and replaced by alternative materials.
The following video codecs are supported by Peercast: VP3, VP6, Theora and WMV. It can also be used with audio broadcast and can be configured to use several audio codecs. The software can be used to transfer individual static media files, such aswell.
Hardware network routers use Network Address Translation to provide internal IP addresses for computers on that network. Traffic flows are converted by NAT needs from internal IP addresses to external IP addresses. To handle P2P traffic routing through NAT usually requires software port forwarding NAT. Peercast is NAT-to-use software and requires no special port forwarding.
A plug-in for the popular Winamp media player available. (Winamp versions 2.x and 5.x)This can be installed and used by customers to easily obtain a Peercast station.
The Peercast network provides a real-time on-line directory of the current station transmitter. (http://yp.peercast.org)
The main Peercast client must be installed to broadcast this P2P network.

Freecaster
Freecaster is a Java P2P transfer application. It must be the Java Runtime Environment, which for the Windows, Unix and Mac operating systems is available. It is protocol compatible with the Icecast streaming.
The software has an internal audio and video player applet that match both the open source Ogg Vorbis audio codec can, and the open source TheoraVideo codec. It can also be configured to use Java Web Start feature for automatically loading and starting. This enables a "one click" approach for web-based end-user.
Each transmitter has the ability to enable a digital signature to media broadcast authentication. This will prevent their broadcasts abducted and replaced by alternative materials.
Freecaster uses a hierarchical method of media broadcast distribution. Each transmitter acts as acentral node with listeners / viewers receiving data from them and relaying it to other listeners / viewers.
JRoar and Icecast media streaming server software can be used with Freecaster. Moreover, can be used to source both ezStream JRoar and Icecast, both Ogg Vorbis and Theora files. This software is a command line program and is available for Windows and Unix operating systems.
Freecaster is software development, with its introduction into networksInteract with network routers use that Network Address Translation (NAT). Port forwarding is currently required to accommodate NAT routers.
A real time station directory is currently not available or supported.
